The early years

My interest in journalism and the arts began when I was 11 entering singing and theatre events at school, in the community and interstate. At 17 the opportunity to compete in the channel 7 newsreader came along and I was lucky enough to be the winner in third place.  In 1996 I went on to write a series of 4 film reviews for Village Australia and I was awarded the Arts

Education Award “highest academic award for performing arts” in Queensland.

I have performed in singing contests all around Australia and have been awarded 1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes and even made it to the Champion of Champions.

Matt was the Apple Mascot for the Stanthorpe Apple Festival in 1996 and was the Brisbane Bears Mascot from 1996 until 1998.

In 1996 Matt joined Top Choice Entertainment and was involved in various acting, character and singing roles across Queensland until the mid-2000s.

The later years

I'm a business entrepreneur and the founder of the Matt Christie Institute of Australia in 2010 in Melbourne, Victoria Australia and across the globe.

Today Matt is regularly invited to host events, speak at events and mentor up and coming youngsters in Australian and abroad.

I have been invited to judge the Queensland Training Awards along with many professional achievement awards. He was also invited to present an award at the Victorian Sports Awards alongside Cathy Freeman. Matt has an on-going commitment to the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, disabilities communities and the aged care community.

Throughout the years Matt has organised a range of charity fundraising events for the Cancer Council of Australia, MS Australia, Salvation Army and the Mc Grath Foundation raising funds in excess of $A26,000.
